In this exclusive interview, we introduce you to Matus Prochaczka, who has played a key role in shaping Consulteer's product design for over 17 years. His passion for design emerged at a young age inspired by the dynamic shapes of futuristic racing cars. Today, he brings that same passion to the world of large-scale machinery and medical technology, seamlessly guiding projects from early vision to market release.

Matus shares insights into his unique ability to combine hands-on industrial design with creative concept art, revealing the innovative approach that defines his work.

What drives your passion for design?

Matus: Being a designer is something truly special – it's the privilege of creating something entirely new, whether it's a form, an interaction, a function, an invention or a concept. Design, to me, is a true art form. Despite the technical methods involved, I deeply feel the artistic essence throughout the entire process.

How important is creativity in your work?

Matus: Creativity is absolutely essential. There isn't a day that goes by without me designing something new - it's deeply ingrained in me. Sketches are never final for me. 3D modelling and the three-dimensional space are my ultimate canvas on which ideas grow and solutions emerge, similar to modelling clay.

What does Consulteer stand for in design?

Matus: At Consulteer, we take pride in developing solutions with a deeper purpose. Our aim is to create more than just aesthetically pleasing designs. Instead, we focus on solving problems holistically, optimizing the user experience and developing innovative approaches that deliver real value to our customers - including cost savings. That’s the true mission of design.

Do you pursue personal projects? What inspires you?

Matus: Yes, sometimes I dive into ideas that have been on my list for a while – creative designs and conceptual ideas that have taken months to develop. In these projects, I'm not constrained by manufacturability or costs. I'm drawn to unconventional designs with bold forms that challenge the audience to think differently. This is how concepts like my Formula 1 and bicycle designs come to life – vibrant, powerful visuals full of energy.

How did the blend of art & design concepts come about?

Matus: It’s always been frustrating to see concepts that required so much work, time and effort - whether in 3D modeling or rendering - quickly fade away, especially in a world flooded with content. So, I found a way to turn these concepts into real, physical paintings, adding artistic depth with spray and acrylic paints. This gives them a permanence that purely digital content often lacks.
